To do this, you will have to download a small program called the Steam Customizer Tool. This is the official tool from the service of Steam Customizer and lets you install new skins downloaded from their site.

Your skin will be downloaded to whatever location you wanted to save it to. (It’s the big green one you can’t miss it). To do this, click on the button Download Skin. When you have spent some time getting your theme sorted and are ready to use it, the next option is to download your skin. Click on the Interface tab, and under the option that says Select the skin you wish Steam to use (requires Steam to restart). The last option Misc Options has a few more minor things you can change colour wise. In the Main UI styles, you can adjust the main colours and text associated with the design using three fields: Extract zip file(s) to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\skins then go to steam settings and under the 'Interface' option, select your theme and press 'OK' on the bottom of that window to apply theme skin and restart Steam. As already mentioned, there are many custom skins available. Something you won’t be able to change however is the layout of the interface.įrom the sidebar on the right, you can select an item to customise : Client (Main Window), Friends Box and the Dialog box. Custom Steam skins change the font as well the colour and gives you something new to experience.
